TSG administered a comprehensive special study/evaluation survey process for LADPW’s existing water facility assets and systems for the Lancaster, Palmdale, Malibu, and Topanga Canyon regions. As the primary consultants for all on-site evaluations, assessments and staff outreach interviews, TSG analysts collected large amounts of data, including photographs taken at each of the facilities, and compiled the data into extensive reports that identified each locations’ facilities and assets, their current states and conditions, site maps, photographs, and diagrams. LADPW used the information gathered through TSG’s assessments in order to determine the initial level of Los Angeles County’s water supply vulnerability to possible terrorist acts.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Castaic Instrumentation Assessment

TSG was involved in a joint effort between the City of Los Angeles DWP and the State of California Department of Water Resources to conduct a special study that assessed instrumentation devices for the rehabilitation of specific components of the 6 reversible power units for the Castaic Hydroelectric Power Plant. TSG was tasked with collecting and assessing the type, condition and location for each instrument to help determine which instruments could be reused and which had to be replaced. TSG completed the assignment by drafting an in-depth report that detailed the findings and included an instrumentation log, comments and recommendations and supporting photographs which was submitted to the client.
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Salinity Management Study

TSG staff worked with member agencies, interested stakeholders and MWD’s staff to develop a strategy for dealing with salinity issues in Southern California. TSG was responsible for all agency and stakeholder outreach and coordination, as well as meeting scheduling, agendas and information dissemination. This required close coordination with the State Department of Water Resources (DWR) and other Metropolitan agencies. This study addressed a number of issues including a review of the fill strategies for Diamond Valley Lake (formerly Eastside Reservoir), reclaimed water needs of member agencies, related infrastructure improvements, issues regarding water from the Colorado River and State Water Project and the economic impacts of salinity.
Central Basin Municipal Water District, Montebello Loop Pipeline Alignment Study

TSG was responsible for collecting and analyzing data on underground utilities, federal agency future designs, current and recently completed construction, specific road conditions and critical business roadway utilization, and federal regulations and ordinances for each of the agencies and municipalities that the proposed alignment study design encompassed. The information and materials gathered were utilized by the Montebello Loop Engineers to determine the routes with the least amount of utility, business and public impact for the construction design of the proposed recycled water pipeline project.
