Cities of Westminster, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach and Stanton, Transit Needs Assessment
Orange County, CA

The TSG Team conducted a Transit Needs Assessment as part of the Go Local Program Step One. The team prepared a detailed analysis of existing transit ridership flows, demographic characteristics of the study area and new service concepts. The effort also included outreach to stakeholders. The team identified four potential projects connecting City destinations with Metrolink for Step Two consideration and prepared the Step One reports submitted to the OCTA. TSG conducted grassroots outreach in the surrounding neighborhoods, attended neighborhood meetings, developed surveys for community forum participants, and organized and conducted large public forums in the project area. The outreach itself consisted of informing the local community of the proposed development, gathering feedback, and analyzing the data to determine the best options for further study.

City of Lake Forest/City of Laguna Hills, Transit Needs Assessment
Lake Forest and Laguna Hills, CA

TSG conducted a transit needs study for the cities of Lake Forest and Laguna Hills as part of their Go Local Program.  Goals for the study included evaluating existing transit services, identifying opportunities for improvement eventually evaluating and prioritizing transit service recommendations tailored to each city, as well as evaluating cost and identifying potential funding.  This effort included extensive community outreach including community workshops and surveys.

City of Coachella, Transit Center Location Study

TSG has led the effort for this project by first identifying the area’s transit needs, identifying potential sites for the transit center, developing justification reports for the transit center, and eventually lobbying politicians for transit appropriation funds.  This effort necessitated coordination between different stakeholders and governmental representatives including county agencies (RCTC), the local transit provider (Sunline), Congresswoman Mary Bono’s office and directing federal lobbying activities and community outreach activities. 

Bay Area Rapid Transit, San Francisco Airport Extension Parking Surveys
San Francisco, CA

The Solis Group worked in conjunction with BART to conduct studies regarding the impact that constructing new BART stations would have on parking in the cities of San Bruno, South San Francisco, and Millbrae.  The Solis Group conducted parking surveys, performed field checks and reviews, and provided on-site inspections in order to gather information from various sources.  The Solis Group established and maintained a database detailing the findings of each inspection.  Maps and videos were prepared as supplemental material accompanying the final report.
