Experience with the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
City of Huntington Park
TSG performs labor standard services under a three year agreement with the City of Huntington Park for various projects, including projects funded with CDBG funds. These services include Contract and Labor compliance monitoring services including, but not limited to, conducting pre-construction meetings, employee interviews and completion of HUD's reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws, Procurement procedures under 24 CFR 85.39, Federal and State labor standards, Minority and Woman Business Enterprise requirements, Contract work hours and safety standards act, Copeland Act, Federal Equal Employment Opportunity, County and Federal Lobbying Requirements, Section 3, and Americans with Disability Act Access Requirements.
City of Huntington Park - Cottage Property
TSG successfully completed the Cottage property rehabilitation project using funds received from the City of Huntington Park Community Housing Development Organization. TSG was the Construction Managers for the project, managing the entire development process from acquisition of the home to rehabilitation and eventually the ribbon cutting ceremony. TSG also provided the Labor Standards monitoring and enforcement for the project.
Huntington Park Express Shuttle
TSG, as Executive Director of SCDC, was instrumental in the advocacy and establishment of Huntington Park Express Shuttle program. Through funding from the City of Huntington Park, the SCDC managed a weekend shuttle program that traveled from residential neighborhoods to major shopping centers and parks within the city. The cost to riders was only 25 cents per ride.
Affordable Housing
TSG, as Executive Director of The Southeast Community Housing Development Corporation (SCHDC), the affordable housing arm of the SCDC, managed HOME funds for the City of Huntington Park. In collaboration with New Economics for Women (NEW), the SCHDC purchased a two-unit property and rehabilitated the home for resale to a low-income family. The SCHDC coordinated all property acquisition and rehabilitation activities, communicated regularly with the City to ensure the project complied with all required city and federal regulations.
